Pronounced: pah-pie-rans

The Papyrans have been played only once by Tristan Grundlie [Jed's Cousin] while he was out camping with Jed. Opening the dusty notebook, we see [cough! cough!] the notes he enscribed:

[The] Papyra live on a planet about to be takend over by Orisians. The are a low-tech [tech level 3] society, and need a way to evacuate thier planet==overtly. OPnly 40,000 of thier people are left, and they need lots of fold-transpor ships and a planety to stay on!
[Picture of a squirl-rat] Papyra first evolved from a small morphing species that normally looks like a prehensile ring-cat. Carnivorus ancient Papyra are lion-like, [over a meter] at the shoulder, ver lithe and skinny--long tails.
Contemorary modern Papyra are human-like as soon as they can see the human shape of thier parent(s). [The] immature morph match their parents in a diminutive way. They must remian [in] human form or else be a target of interstellar game hunters. Childbirth is a closely garded subject!

Usual Change Rates

Fast: 2-7 days, not counting hair which is 1/2 hour, eyes: 5 min
Slow: 2-4 weeks
Most change times take at least one day, slow and major changes take usually three weeks or four. With practice, the smae change can take place with about four to seven days less time.

Restrictions on Changes

Brain and nervous system are fairly fixed.
Body and mass is relatively fixed.
Metabolism must stay endothermic, ie: you can't change out of mammalian form.
Digestive, cognitive, and reproductive organs are relatively fixed.

Hair color change 30 min, Eyes 5 min, eye patterns 5 min. Skin same as hair. Amazing vocal chords, imitation of anyone's voice, bird calls, etc.
Demitris colonized Buteogallus, Triconian sector 5., [using a company named] IDH, Interstellar Delivery Handlers.

The last anyone heard of the Papyrans, they had safely settled on Buteogallus and were making deals with the Triconians. Pretty cool, eh?
