Humans
Us. You. You, for all we know. Basically, just from mom and pop: good old Homo Sapiens. No genetic reconfiguration, no outrageous alterations. Just normal. The extent of the species Homo sapiens is unknown. They seem to have spread to just about everywhere in the galaxy since before the Galactic Dark Age. They might have even reached the Andromeda galaxy by now. Humans are definitely persistent that way.
