Cyrus' Star
Sorry, some names of critters on this page are not very
original, so please don't sue us, we're doing our best to avoid
copyright infringement.
- Planetary governor: Council of 12 (representatives for population in peacetime)
- Scope: Capitol world of Triconian Empire; you figure it out.
- Indigenous races: Humans, Cyrans.
- Important Flora: Similar to Earth's.
- Important Fauna: several alien species of non-sentient animals have been imported over the planet's six-thousand-year history of human occupation, and some species have been bio-engineered right on the planet. Some examples include the pseudo-aurumvorax, a combat/hunting beast, and the pseudo-trelanger, a birdlike pack predator. Some imported creatures are the Proxima Centaurian altsameon, a herbivorous colony organism responsible for a great deal of pollination on the planet, and the Castorian howlercat, a breed of "singing" pack foragers now extinct on their homeworld.
- Average temp: 70-80 degrees F at equator
- Relative gravity: 1.0
- Atmosphere: Earthlike; nitrogen oxygen and carbon dioxide
- Satellites: two moons, Polaris and Elrosc
- Controlling Nation: Triconian
- Population: 10.73 billion
- Races:
- Human
- Cyran
- Centauroid (humanoid upper torso with quadrupedal lower body
- Assorted alien settlers, approx. 2% of population
- Resources: The planet's natural resources have been carefully caretaken over six thousand years. Cyrus' Star boasts the largest shipyards, mechanized armor (mecha) factories, and general engineering facilities in the Triconian Empire. The planet also has an ancient array of SunSats orbiting its sun, providing so much solar juice to the planet that antimatter power plants are no longer necessary. Another notable Cyrus' Star resource is its incredible yearly crop of hemp, which is put to nearly every imaginable use. Natives eat, wear, medicate with, write on, and do quite a few other unimportant things with hemp and its derivatives.
- Military potential: There is no military potential for Cyrus' Star, only military fact. The planet's militia alone can field a force of over 1 billion in wartime. It is currently guarded from space by a home fleet of over 3000 warships.
- Planetary Dilemmas: Cyrus' Star's problems spring from political sources. Unrest is constantly fomented among the natives by the Reynolds clan of Cyrans, who detest the new Triconian regime and have withdrawn nearly all their people and strength from the planet. Cyrus' Star remains absolutely unthreatened by any menace except from within.
