The Other Robowars

Unfortunately, Robowars is not a very original name. The group of us (Robowars originals) had heard rumors of other games or subjects titled Robowars. Apparently there is some robot engineering competition by the name of Robowars with microprocessor controlled robots which try and kill each other (sounds fun!). One day, crawling over the net, I (Jed) found another game named Robowars, by Mike Epstein.

Well, I found this somewhat alarming, I didn't know how Mike would react to someone else using the name of his game as thiers. So, I wrote him and asked him.

Which is not surprising, since I was looking for anything else
out there with the same name...before it became too
inconvenient. *chuckle* I don't want to steal your game's name,
so I was wondering if you coujld lookit my game's web page and
help me think up a new name :)

Actaully, I didn't really take a close look at your document yet,
but it reminds me a lot of...a cross between Cyberpunk and
BattleTech. My game is entirely differnet...it's very free form.

So, I corjually invite you to have a look at the game I'm putting
up. It's at:

	http://www.cairgrey.com/robo

I hope you like it.

Mr. Epstein gave me a friendly reply, suggesting I kept the title The Robowars Roleplaying Game.

I haven't even looked at my game in years. I haven't had any time and it
wasn't very well developed. The name is yours if you like. I don't mind
if you use it.
Mike

And that's the story of Mike Epstein.
We thank him profusely for his good will.
